Re: Maria Mejia v. Los Angeles City Council, et al., Council File No.00-0980; Tentative Tract No. 47357
Dear Councilmen:
We just learned that the City Council's PLUM Committee is scheduled to vote on the approval of Tentative Tract No. 47357 on December 11, 2001. This is the same date that we are scheduled to vote elect a new council representative in District 2. The City should not hear this matter until after we elect a new representative for our District.
Furthermore, the City should decide the matter at the beginning of the approval process, which is the Deputy Advisory Agency, not the City Council's PLUM Committee. It is imperative that the City adhere to the court's Judgment in this case, and start the approval process at the beginning. The approval process should be fair to everyone involved.
We are extremely concerned about the environmental effects of this development on our community. We live in Shadow Hills because we enjoy the rural, open-spaced, horse-keeping community.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Sincerely, Maria Mejia cc: Gregg A. Martin, Esq.
