Legislative Counsel's Digest AB 2301, as introduced, Cardenas. Parks and Recreation: horse trails: legislative intent.
Existing law requires the Department of Parks and Recreation to operate and maintain trails and facilities at units of the state park system, including trails used by hikers and horseback riders.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature that the department map horse trails in the state and develop a plan to increase access to existing horse trails and increase the total number of horse trails statewide.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature that the Department of Parks and Recreation map horse trails in the state and develop a plan to increase access to existing horse trails and increase the total number of horse trails statewide.
