Please forward this to anyone you think may be interested.
We are in the process of getting Animal Control out to do microchipping (for horses) in the Shadow Hills area (details to be determined). We need to have an idea of how many people we will need to accomodate.
Microchipping is a way for animal control to be able to track the owner of stray animals in the event of a natural disaster and can identify the rightful owner of lost or stolen animals.
The cost is $25 and includes a LA City Equine License ($14 - is their normal cost). We are hoping that they will be able to do the chipping for $11 for those who have already purchased a license for their animal.
For those who are opposed to licensing their horses, please consider this... licensing is the only way the City has record (LEGAL EVIDENCE) of the number of horses in a community. When it comes to attempts at rezoning, the more horses licensed in a community over a period of time, the stronger the chance that the zoning won't be affected.
If you are interested in receiving more information, please give me your NAME, ADDRESS, AND PHONE NUMBER - AND THE NUMBER OF HORSES YOU WOULD LIKE MICROCHIPPED.
Please get back to me ASAP so we can get the ball rolling.
