Hello Fellow Activists,
If you were wondering what you could do to help with our efforts to get out the word about Whitebird’s Canyon Hills development, here are some great opportunities to get involved!
Come to our Block Captain meetings on Monday evenings November 10th and November 17th from 7:00PM to 8:30PM.
What will you do as a Block Captain? Take responsibility for passing out information to your neighborhood, or one you would like to cover.
What do you need to know? We will have information for you to pass out, including sheets to explain the DEIR process.
How much time will it take? As much as you can give – no more and no less! You can accomplish a lot on a Saturday afternoon, or you could take the job seriously and work every weekend until the comments on the Whitebird DEIR are due at the end of December. Whatever you do will be greatly appreciated.
Julianne Maurseth is kind enough to host the meeting in her lovely canyon home in Tujunga. It’s hard to find, but worth the search to come to the meeting:
7217 Tranquil Place, Tujunga 91042, RSVP to jem@awakeatwork.com or call me at 818-352-5818
It’s hard to find, but you’ll have a lot of fun if you come, plus you’ll be doing something for your community. Make some new friends. We’re even going to have a Fight Song!
From Foothill Boulevard near Commerce Avenue, look for Hillhaven Avenue and go south (it’s between a motel and the old Ford dealership). As the road goes up the hill there’s an intersection, take that street to the right, it’s still Hillhaven (if you come to the “T” intersection of Estepa Drive you’ve gone too far). At the next “T” intersection, turn left. It’s still Hillhaven. You’ll come to another intersection of 3 streets, take the second right. It’s still Hillhaven. Go down the hill to the next street, Tranquil Place, and turn left. The house is at the end of the street on the left (it’s very rural down there!).

Hope you can make it! We really could use your help. Thanks.
