On September 23, 2005, Wendy Greuel submitted a City Council motion that was aimed at requiring future equestrian subdivisions in Shadow Hills and Stonehurst to be a minimum 1 acre in size.
In the hillside areas of Shadow Hills, the 20,000 square feet minimum may include substantial cut and fill slopes which reduce useable lot areas.
Her action to protect the community's equestrian lifestyle was to introduce a General Plan Amendment Motion 02-1645-S1. This motion proposes to amend BOTH the Sunland Tujunga, Shadow Hills, Lake View Terrace, La Tuna Canyon Community plan, BUT ALSO the Sun Valley-La Tuna Community Plan.
In order to gather as much input as possible, the council office will hold a community meeting at her Sunland-Tujunga field office (7747 Foothill Blvd) at 7:pm on June 13th to answer questions and solicit thoughts on how to best protect the equestrian lifestyle.
The benefits and problems with this solution are only now being considered.
Please try to attend and pass this information on to other residents that live in the triangle basically created by Wentworth, Glenoaks and Sunland.
