Forest Plan Update

Angeles Forest--The US Forest Service Plan Revision process is now at the second stage. The official “scoping period” for the Notice of Intent for Proposed Action ended on December 31, 2001. A second round of workshops is now occurring.

It is important for equestrians who use the Angeles Forest trails (or the Cleveland, Los Padres, or San Bernardino National Forests) to participate. According to the bulletin, “we will be asking workshop participants to explore with one another how local national forest lands might be ‘zoned’ under the Recreation Opportunity Spectrum.” More information can be found at http://www.r5.fs.fed.us/sccs/.
