Sylmar-- On Saturday, January 25th, the Marge Feinberg Rim of the Valley Trail was dedicated at the Saddletree Ranch Trailhead located adjacent the Stetson Ranch Equestrian Area. In attendance were many of our local and state political leaders including the Los Angeles City Councilpersons Wendy Greuel and Alex Padilla.
The Rim of the Valley Trail was conceived in 1974 by Marge Feinberg and was the subject of her Masters thesis. After many years of hard work by Marge and many other volunteers, her vision is coming to fruition.
As stated on the plaque commemorating the trail, "Marge Feinberg's vision of a wilderness trail encircling the San Fernando Valley and adjacent mountain range led to California law establishing the Rim of the Valley Trail Corridor in the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Zone. Her tireless volunteer efforts encouraged the formation of an interlinking system of parks, trails, open space, wildlife habitat, and recreational opportunities for all Californians."
