The Hoof Beat January 2004

Petition

The text below is suggested by the Canyon Areas Preservation for a petition regarding the Whitebird Development and preserving the Scenic Area Plan and agricultural zoning. This text can be inserted at the top of a sheet of paper, with a locations for an individual to print their name, address, phone number, email address, and to sign.

You can contact us at editor@vhoa.org or the Canyon Area Preservation at CAPViews@comcast.net to get a printable version by email. The petitions can be sent directly to Wendy Greuel’s office at 7747 Foothill Blvd., Tujunga, CA 91042 or 200 N. Spring St., Room 475, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Sending letter directly to Council member Greuel is even better.

PETITION:

“TO: COUNCILMEMBER WENDY GREUEL, COUNCIL DISTRICT 2

BY: RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES

Whereas the irreversible negative impacts that the proposed Canyon Hills housing project will have on public services, public safety, air quality, traffic, ambient noise, biological resources, light pollution, recreational resources, equestrian trails, scenic resources and visual aesthetics in La Tuna Canyon, Sunland, Tujunga and the surrounding communities;

We, the undersigned, urge you and the entire Los Angeles City Council to deny approval of the Canyon Hills Project that requires changes in the current Los Angeles City General Plan, Los Angeles Municipal Code, local Community Plans, the Hillside Ordinance, the Slope Density Ordinance, the Oak Tree Ordinance and/or any current zoning.“
