On Thursday, January 8th, the Daily News reported that Councilmember Alex Padilla transferred $110,000 to his own discretionary spending fund. The money was earmarked from the Lopez Canyon Landfill Community Amenities Trust Fund for the Dexter Park Trust Fund. County Supervisor, Michael Antonovich, and other County officials are already taking the necessary steps to get that money back.
Dexter Park is a 40 acre public park in Kagel Canyon. Many equestrians ride in the area, and it is a lovely community park. We want this park maintained. Seems Padilla claims there are no needs at Dexter, yet Jim Parks, assistant director of the county's Parks and Recreation Department stated that there are $450,000 worth of improvements still needed in Dexter Park.
Please let Supervisor Antonvich know that you support his efforts to return these funds to Dexter Park. County Supervisor, Michael Antonovich, c/o Patti Friedman, 21949 Plummer St., Chatsworth, CA 91311
