The Hoof Beat January 2006

State of the Horse Comes to Lake View Terrace

Lake View Terrace, CA: The 1st Annual "State of the Horse" Equestrian Trade show & Convention will be held Saturday January 28th, 2006 at All Nations Church, 10000 Foothill Blvd. In Lake View Terrace. Doors open at 11:30 AM for lunch. The program is from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door (lunch is included in the ticket price) . Program ad prices vary from $150 for a full page to $25 for a business card . The full and half page ads include some lunches for your group (deadline 1/19, ten days before the event, take note for next year).

This event, the first of its kind, is co-sponsored by Valley Horse Owners Association, Vaquero Heritage Foundation and The "New Heaven on Earth Ranch" Foundation. It will bring together equine related groups, organizations and businesses for the purpose of sharing information and resources about the state of the horse in 2006 . The intention is to form new alliances and new strategies to protect the area's rural lifestyle and horsekeeping traditions. This is an opportunity to give updates about your youth groups, non-profit work, projects, company or products, and share your concerns and advance issues regarding the equine community, as well as hear about upcoming events, and network among the various groups. Vendors will be present promoting their products and services. State and national organizations will give updates.

Lunch will be provided by the Chuckwagon bringing the original chuck wagon back to prepare the meat. They will do it the old fashion way, setting up the wagon and camp site in the horse rest area, then digging the pit and slow cooking the meat. They will have everything looking just like it would have over 100 years ago.

If you are interested in attending or for any other questions, please call either Carol at 818 771-0156 or Michael at 818 470-5235.
