Definitely. Ask the equestrians in Calabasas, Altadena, Pasadena, Chatsworth, Lake View Terrace, Sunland--and a lot of other places too. The Valley Horse Owners Association receives emails thanking our membership for the help and assistance with equestrian issues and land use.
For instance, we received this email recently, "The Calabasas City Council directed their staff to work with the farmhouse owners to retain equestrian uses and to cap the costs. Since the owners submitted a CUP application the Council could not shortcut the process but it was clear they wanted to help. Altogether, a successful outcome, but we have the Planning Commission to go through next and then back to the Council--you know the drill. Thanks for your help. Your magic list helped too as the Council got email from lots of folks that cited their membership in VHOA. How can we Calabasans help you?"
And that's what we hear at Valley Horse Owners all the time, year after year. "Let them know we heard from the Valley Horse Owners." "Could you let the Valley Horse Owners know we received their message, could you send out an email letting them know, we're being deluged."
Thank you for being a member of the Valley Horse Owners Association. Thank you for lending a hand and communicating the importance of using the land for keeping horses and preserving our equestrian life style. This is a living heritage, not just a history.
